How Does At-Home Teeth Whitening Work?

When you ask about an at-home teeth whitening kit, our dentists will first consult with you to determine your goals for whiter teeth. You’ll then be custom-fitted for gel trays that you can take home and reuse for multiple treatments. We recommend wearing the trays for one hour each night over ten nights, but we may adjust the time frame depending on your specific goals and the current shade of your teeth. Some sensitivity is expected during the whitening process, but if you feel extra sensitivity in your teeth, stop using the whitening gel and consult with our dentists before continuing the treatment.

Is Teeth Whitening Suitable for Me?

The natural shade of the teeth can be extremely varied from person to person. Additionally, stains build up on teeth over time, originating from food and drinks, smoking, improper oral hygiene. At-home teeth whitening kits can bleach the colour of the tooth and remove years of stains to reveal a younger, brighter smile. Keep in mind that teeth whitening treatments do not work on artificial teeth, such as dentures, crowns, or veneers. Your whitening results will also last longer if you avoid common sources that stain teeth, such as coffee, red wine, berries, and smoking.
